Winners of Glastonbury Emerging Talent 2008, Golden Silvers mix 80's groove with 00's indie and the outcome is that you just wanna forget about your troubles and dance. The band's album drops on April 27th through XL. Definitely gonna be one to watch grow throughout this year.

The Maccabees were one of the first indie bands I ever really fell for. Orlando Weeks' voice is magical and drew me in from the first time I listened. Really beautiful songs (on Colour It In) but after hearing No Kind Words (the band's giving it away here) it sounds like they've found a darker side. Still beautiful, so no worries. No sign of those powerful guitar crescendo's though, which is a shame, hopefully they're still there on some of the other album tracks. Weeks has also lent his voice to Filthy Dukes for the title track of their album - Nonsense in the Dark. The Kill 'em All remixes I like but some of their original stuff bores me - typically indie-disco-sounds like it's from the '80s-synths. I've read mixed reviews on their album, mostly saying that is amazing but a bit shit at the same time. All I knows is I loves me some Orlando Weeks. The 'Dukes are playing @ The Faversham this saturday if you're anywhere near Leeds. The 4play on them last night was interesting aswell, they've collabarated with loads of great artists (frYars, Plastic Little, Tommy Sparks, The Secret Machines) for the album so it's gotta have something special on there.

Can't wait for the new Simian Mobile Disco album. If 10,000 Horses.. and Synthesise are anything to go by it's gonna be much less indie-dance and much more minimal house - awesome. Can't say I'm usually into minimal/tech stuff but I'm all over these two Simian tracks. The videos' are sick too, check em out here and here (is the Synthesise one just a live version of 10,000 horses?).

Wax:on was sick. Fake Blood was awesome just as expected but didn't drop anything special. Jack Beats absolutely killed it though. He just blew me + my mates away. Driving bass, dubstep and he even played the new version of Steve Angello - Be mixed with Show me Love, which I didn't expect at all. The MC wasn't too bad either, pretty funny guy and got the crowd going pretty well. The highlight was definitely Where's my Money, such a good song. I just wish it would've been a bit louder other than that the atmosphere was perfect, dj's were great and people sorted. Same time next month?

Audio Bully's are back. Like actually back with something good. "Gimme That Punk" last year was shit. But this songs well catchy with the boys going back to their laddish ways with some solid electro to back em up, rather than the barron-feeling GTP.

The Tommy Sunshine & Udachi remix is awesome, and after some research I found that he's an artist/remixer/producer/label owner/dj/songwriter from Brooklyn, NY and has collabarated with James Murphy(!), Felix da Housecat and Mylo. Fuck me. Didn't see that coming, thought he was gonna be just another run-of-the-mill NY producer, making his own stuff and remixes here and there for his mates in an electro/indie band. I digress. Sorry.

Udachi's from New York too. I think there's only a couple of people left who aren't.

I've just been reading a forum with a load of pricks airing their complaints about Rusko remixing a Katy Perry song, making it out like he's just completely sold out and disrespected dub-step and that "it should be kept underground". These guys, whoever they are, are like that friend you have (or maybe it's you?) that just wont like shit because it's commercial. I know there's blogs out there that's whole purpose is about satirising shit like this (a la Hipster Runoff) already, but I'm just saying I wait for the day when pop and alt go hand in hand and there are no boundaries to shit anymore. The day you can go buy a Westlife record and it's next to a fucking Rusko bootleg of Katy Perry. I feel like some people are past it, but when there's people stuck in their ways, wanting to keep the bands they found to themselves, and hating it when other people get into them. These people, are pricks.

All this and I still haven't even listened to Rusko's Perry mix yet, lol.

Yeah it was everywhere towards the end of year and got kind of tiring. But the first time I heard that song I craved it. It was in my head for weeks, and still there to be honest.

Everyone went mad for the Foamo remix, it was good, just not as good as the original. I mean, if Erol Alkan produces your album it's guaranteed to have every song incredible, and they were.

.....new music blog. I seem to accumulate stack loads of songs. I thought I'd give myself an outlet to share love for my favourite artists. I'll probs be posting mostly (dancey) electronic and indie stuff, but I'm sure there'll be the rare occasion where I post other shit, my taste's pretty ecletic (not sure on the spelling of that). Anyway, some music talk.

ERRORS
Errors are a band I saw a while ago now, I didn't know who they were but they were supporting 65daysofstatic who a couple a friends took me go to see. I was impressed back then at their post-electro sound (they call themselves acid house x math rock "mathid house" lol). Toes was the best song I heard on the night, So I was ecstatic when I saw that Last.fm were giving away a free remix of it.
DOLBY ANOL
I reckon their gonna rip it in 09. With remixes for Chromeo, The Futureheads and Beyonce under their belts (and an absolute beauty for Kings of Leon [hype it]) and with Boys Noize recently dropping one of their tracks, Puppies, into a set, I think the Scottish duo's about to take off (in 'our' world anyway).
